Our Gas Cooker Installers engineers always make sure that the first action that is taken when fitting a gas oven is that the electrical and gas powers attached to the gas oven is switched off from the circuit breaker. When fitting a gas oven this part must not be neglected, as fitting a gas oven whilst electrical wiring is still running can cause a dangerous accident.
The next step in fitting a gas oven is for the gas oven to be removed. To do this, the gas oven’s door must be removed from its hinges; this is done by unscrewing the bolts that fix the door on to the gas oven and then slide out the door from its current position. All mounting screws in the oven or gas oven need to be taken out by our engineer so the oven can be removed from the cabinet space so that the fitting of the gas oven can be done.
After the oven or gas oven is removed from the cabinet space for fitting a new gas oven, the specialists at Gas Cooker Installers take the next step in fitting a gas oven by disconnecting all electrical and gas wiring attached to the oven or gas oven from the wall. Once this is done, the fitting of the new gas oven can begin.
It is important that when fitting a gas oven, the door on the gas oven that is fitting into the cabinet space is removed so that it is not damaged when the fitting of the gas oven is being made. Furthermore, it makes the gas oven less heavy when it is being installed into its cabinet space. Gas Cooker Installers workers always place the gas oven on a jack or stand that is the same level as the cabinet space so that the gas oven fitting is easier to do.
All the appropriate gas and electrical connections will need to be conveyed in the manufacturer’s instructions. It must be made sure that the gas wires and electrical wires are within two metres from the electrical junction box, and gas connector, when fitting a gas oven.
When fitting a gas oven, the gas connector should be firmly screwed to the gas supply during the fitting. If this is not the case during fitting a gas oven, the gas oven’s cables will produce a gas leak. Gas Cooker Installers engineers, will always make sure that when we are fitting a gas oven, we put a solution on the gas line connector. In doing this we are able to see if there is a leak, as bubbles will form from the solution when fitting a gas oven. If a gas leak is found when fitting a gas oven, the engineer will need to turn off and tighten the connection to the gas supply with a wrench until a leak is no longer occurring.
The next step in fitting a gas oven is to place the gas oven into the cabinet opening. This should be done cautiously as to not compress wires on the side of the gas oven and crimp or dent them. Once this part of fitting a gas oven is completed successfully, the borders provided for the gas oven can be put in place with the relevant screws that should have come with the gas oven. Once this part of fitting a gas oven is completed, the door can be screwed onto the gas oven along with the relevant fittings.
